Evan Honer brought his “It’s a Long Road Tour” to the First Avenue in Minneapolis on March 21. He played for approximately two hours and had the audience in the palm of his hand. He interacted with his fans and offered a really immersive show.

Michal Leah and her guitarist put together an amazing set as the openers. Honer brought her back on during his set to sing “Waiting Ain’t Easy”.

Honer came on stage with a backflip and started out with his title track song “Everything I Wanted” from his most recent album.

Guitarist Shane Travis rocked it during the next few songs “Nowhere Fast” and “Lose a Friend”. Travis switched from the guitar, bass, and drums, showing off his amazing musical talent.

Connor West played multiple instruments from the keyboard to the banjo, displaying the flexibility and variety of the band.

Watching Honer perform, the audience could see the emotion he puts into his show. Especially during the song “My Expense”, a Cameron Whitcomb original that Honer was a feature on. The song talks about giving everything to a significant other at getting nothing in return.

Honer came back on stage for an encore and played an unreleased song called “The Late Show”. He then did a cover of a Fall Out Boy song “Sugar We’re Going Down” before finishing off the set with his song “idk shit about cars” from his album “Fighting For”.
