Bulldogs Give Back Week was the week of April 19-24, during National Volunteer Week. From Sunday through Saturday, student organizations were able to raise money and learn new ways to give back to both the community and to others.

Throughout the week, the tabling area was nearly at capacity with organizations on campus, off campus organizations, as well as different businesses from the area.

The Duluth Playhouse was just one of many community-centered businesses that students had the opportunity to help out with. The Seussical Jr Musical was performed during the week and UMD students and staff had the option to usher the show.

One way students on campus were able to give back was on Earth Day. Women in Psychology and UMD Psychology Club partnered up, along with a few other campus groups and student organizations, to clean up the Lakewalk on Canal Park.

At the end of Bulldogs Give Back Week, Kirby Program Board, Techno Club, and Women in Psych were able to host the Spring Fling. The Spring Fling was on Kirby Terrace last Friday, April 24.

On the Terrace, the Techno Club was partying it up with their music while also grilling hot dogs, cornhole was being played by many students, while even more students were out enjoying the sunshine.

“Honestly, this might be my favorite event that’s happened this week, Spring Fling. With the bouncy house and the nice weather and the games and the food, I think it has probably been my favorite so far,” said Kirby Program Board member, Tallulah Houser.

Another student, Brooklyn Ochsendorf, talked about her favorite event of the Bulldogs Give Back Week. Her favorite event was also hosted by Kirby Program Board, “My favorite event was the Crumbl Cookies and Coloring.”
