It was a great weekend to be a bulldog. UMD overthrows Augustana’s number two spot with a huge 41-15 win. Now the Bulldogs sit at the NO.8 spot, and they are out for blood.

Within the first 10 minutes, Wade Sullivan scored a five-yard touchdown to set the bulldogs off on the right foot. With this good streak in motion UMD fights hard, and makes it look effortless to end the first quarter with a 20-7 lead.

The Bulldogs go into the second quarter with a winning mentality and score the first touchdown once again to show the Vikings what the Bulldogs are made of. Johnny McCormick completed a six-yard touchdown at the 14:21 minute mark. With less than five Minutes left in the second quarter, Garrett Olson rushed a huge 51-yard run to get the first down into field goal range. Curt Cox completed the kick to finish the second quarter giving the Bulldogs a 34-7 lead and shutting out Augustana for the quarter.

To end off the one-sided game, Joe Kordus intercepted a massive pass to score a 75 yard touchdown and bring the Bulldogs even further ahead of the Vikings. After a long fight in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs took a huge win against a good competitor. Leaving the field with a strong 41-15 win, it’s easy to say it was a good weekend for the Bulldogs

With a steady 8-2 record, UMD plans on keeping the winning streak alive going into next weekend  for senior day against Northern State University on Nov. 13.
