Early risers on Saturday, Sept. 13, were treated to the swish of roller blades and the clack of poles on the road if they volunteered for or viewed the North Shore Inline Marathon.

Roller Skiers, bladers, and runners alike whizzed past spectators Saturday. Both men's and women’s inline skate records were broken. Though the day started foggy, the temperatures stayed cool for the athletes, with the sun peaking out later in the day.

Nolan Beddiaf won the men’s division with a time of 55 minutes, 22 seconds, breaking the previous record set in 1998 by almost a full two minutes. On the women's side, Laura Alejandra Perdomo Moreno broke the 2023 record by about five seconds with a time of 1:04:49.

The day wasn’t all about the fastest bladers, though. Spectators near the Lakewood Road water station cheered on all participants, who in turn came to give some young children high fives during the race.

As participants carried on, they encountered the UMD Pep Band playing in the tunnels of I35, serenading the skiers, bladers, and runners.

The largest point-to-point inline marathon in the world will continue in 2026, with registration already open! Volunteer, participate, or spectate September 18 and 19, 2026.
