The Bulldog softball team took on the Winona State Warriors Sunday, April 26 in a split double header to end their home season. The Bulldogs put in their all for both games, losing the first 0-9, and winning the second 5-0. This put the Bulldogs in 8th place in the NSIC and in good competition to make the tournament in a few weeks.

The Warriors came in hot the first game, scoring 2 runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs did not score at all in the first, while the Warriors went on to score another run at the top of the second to bring the score to 0-3. The third inning saw the Warriors hit a home run right off the bat, before the Bulldogs took the plate. Serena Timmer hit a double to try and get a run for the Bulldogs, but could not swing it. The third inning ended with a score of  0-4.

Both teams really put on their defense throughout the rest of the game, as there was no scoring for the next three innings. This streak was broken, however, by the Warriors hitting a home run in the seventh inning to gain 3 more runs. They followed this with an additional 2 runs in the innings before the Bulldogs took over for the last time. The Bulldogs fought hard in the seventh inning, but were not able to make anything happen and the game ended with a final score of 0-9.

The Bulldogs were ready to fight in the second game, striking out the Warriors almost immediately and bagging a run by Daphne Evans in the first inning. The second inning saw no scoring, and the top of the third was yet again scoreless for the Warriors. The bottom of the third was when the Bulldogs entered a flow with Daphne Evans hitting a double, allowing Noelle Krumrie to score. Kendal Jenkins went on to hit a single allowing Daphne Evans her second run of the afternoon.

The game went without scoring until the sixth inning when the Bulldogs were up to bat. Morgan McMillan hit a single to center field, allowing Khendal Johnson and Sierra Thomas to score in the process. The Bulldogs ended on top with a score of 5-0, securing a split with the Warriors.

The Bulldogs go back on the road to close out the rest of their regular season playing St. Cloud State on May 2, and Concordia St. Paul on May 3.
