Bulldogs Hail Victory Over Wayne State

The Bulldogs showed up ready to play on Sunday, September 20, clinching a 1-0 win over the Wayne State Wildcats to maintain their undefeated reputation in the NSIC.

A corner kick made by Juliana Zerna is what led to the Bulldog goal, with Lauren McGough able to head the ball in during the sixteenth minute of the game. This marks the 4th goal this season for McGough, which leads the Bulldogs. 

The second period saw no scoring; however, it was consumed with fouls on both teams, even leading to a penalty kick awarded to the Wildcats, which nearly tied up the game. The shot was missed, however, ending the game 1-0 for a Bulldog win.

The Bulldogs were eager to win this one, making 22 shots, 15 of which were on goal, while the Wildcats made 9, with 7 being on goal. Additionally, goalkeeper Edy Halverson recorded 6 saves, making for her third shutout of the season. 

The Bulldogs can be seen next in Bismarck, North Dakota, taking on the University of Mary Marauders on Friday, September 25.
