Favorite Fall Movies

It is the season of Halloween, and with that comes scary movies and pumpkin spice lattes. There are many different movies that can come to mind when thinking about a good fall movie. There are the “Hocus Pocus” movies and the popular horror movies such as “Scream” and “Friday the 13th”. Let’s not forget the fall rom-coms like “When Harry Met Sally” or “You’ve Got Mail”, or a good football movie such as “Remember the Titans”.

There is also a huge debate for this one between our Halloween fans and Christmas fans: “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, for those who can decide if it is Halloween or Christmas time! Those are just a few popular movies that come up during fall time, but what about a few movies that can pass for all year-round? We all know that the movie series “Harry Potter” is for the fall.

There are so many different fall movies to go and binge for your fall movie night with your friends, such as the popular psychological thriller series of “Saw” movies. Maybe you like clay animations and stop motion like “Coraline” and “Corpse Bride”. Maybe you like Johnny Depp Halloween movies such as “Sleepy Hollow” or “Edward Scissorhands”. Maybe you're not into the whole scary theme of things and like a good cry from “Dead Poets Society” or “Little Women”. Now what about the people who won’t admit they teared up a bit during those movies?

A few movie options might be “The Mighty Ducks,” or they need to get in the football spirit and watch “Rudy,” or maybe sports aren’t their thing. Maybe they like the back-to-school vibes with “Good Will Hunting”.

Those were some of my thoughts on the best fall movies. I went and asked a few people what their favorite movie was and why it was their favorite. The first person I asked was Adrianna Engstom.

Engstom said, “I love the first “Scream” movie because of the very obvious plot twists, and I also found the movie kind of funny because of the ‘jump scares’ in the movie. While it might be seen as scary, I find that it is very obvious how the movie is going to play out from the very beginning”.

The second person I asked the same question to was Louie Tousignant.

Tousignant said, “I think my favorite movie is “Coraline”. Because of the art direction of the movie. The way it was made by stop motion was a really cool feature for the movie. The amount of time it took to get the movie made must have been a lot, and the turnout was amazing”.

Whether you are into scary movies, funny movies, or sports movies, the fall is the best time to stay in with some friends and binge-watch your favorite fall movie.
