You’re not registered to vote? Let’s change that!

In order to vote in American elections, citizens must first register. Minnesota requires citizens to register through the office of the Minnesota Secretary of State.

Before getting started, there are a couple of things voters need. Make sure to have an email address and one of the following:

  • Minnesota driver’s license

  • Minnesota identification card number

  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

Registering to vote takes less than an hour (if you are going slow) and is simple and painless.

There are so many places around Duluth to do your civic duty. No matter where you are around town, there is always a place to vote. Every precinct has at least one voting place, and some even have two! For students at UMD, Kirby Student Center is the closest voting place to campus (because it's on campus!)

Voting Place Locations

It should be known that you are required to vote at your local voting place within your district. Use the map shown below to find which precinct you live in.

Elections are important for the youth of the country. It will be our responsibility to elect our leaders, strong leaders, good leaders. If people vote, our government will be more in line with our beliefs. We could become a greater nation, a great democracy and become greater people.
