National Suicide Prevention Month may just be a month, but suicide prevention is year-round. Raising awareness and providing resources is a key factor within this month and something that requires attention from everyone — having a support system is a social need that is necessary for each individual person.

With that in mind, Sara Cedars, Interim Director of Counseling on campus, has provided The Bark with information regarding mental health consultations and community groups.

“We currently have 6 fully licensed therapists who can provide 1:1 counseling at no cost to enrolled students,” Cedars said in her statement to The Bark. “We do not bill insurance. We also have a case manager who can assist students with referrals, accessing community and campus resources, navigating the university system, providing additional or urgent support for students in need.”
